3. Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are off to a very quick start this season, and have surprised quite a few people with their play. DeMarcus Cousins has taken on an even bigger leadership role, and Rudy Gay has embraced his role as the number two scorer. Sacramento has to prove that they can continue playing this type of basketball consistently, but as of right now they are definitely a contender.

Cousins provides the Kings with a pretty big advantage each and every night against his opponent, and he has been putting up big double-doubles this year. Gay has done an excellent job of scoring consistently alongside of Cousins to take pressure off of him, and point guard Darren Collison has been doing an excellent job as well.

There weren’t many that expected the Kings to even be playoff contenders, but they have impressed quite a bit this season. It’s about time that they field a good team, and the fans are responding very well to the early success. Keeping up that success is going to be tough, but there is no question that the Kings have that type of potential and talent.
