Detroit Lions, 10-6, Second in NFC North

Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions have been playing impressive football this season, and it has come without the NFL’s best wide receiver Calvin Johnson for the most part. Newly signed wide receiver Golden Tate has come through in a big way, and they have had enough of a running game to balance out their offense. Some of their wins haven’t been pretty, but they have gotten the job done and currently sit in first place.

It’s very possible that they could hold on for the division win, but it’s going to be difficult with the schedule that they have. Their defense still has some holes, and they have gotten lucky that a couple teams have choked a win away. Detroit is still going to be a playoff team in the NFC, but they won’t necessarily win the division.

Detroit is a young team with a lot of room to grow if they continue down the same road that they are on. Getting Calvin Johnson back would be a huge plus for this team, but their defense still isn’t where it needs to be to contend with their schedule.
