NFL QB Power Rankings: Ranking The Starters Through Week 10
No. 24-21
24. Drew Stanton – Arizona Cardinals
I’m actually really intrigued to see how Drew Stanton performs down the stretch for the Cardinals. Before the season I would have guessed that if Stanton was a starter that he would be at or near the bottom of these rankings. However, Stanton has been solid in relief of Carson Palmer. Most impressive has been Stanton’s confidence to throw the ball down the field. His 9.5 “air yards” per completion in his limited playing time is higher than the average of the best QBs in the league. Can he keep it up?
23. Andy Dalton – Cincinnati Bengals (-2)
If Andy Dalton has another game or two like the one he had last week he may quickly find himself at the bottom of these rankings. However, Dalton is notorious for his up and down play. While he could easily have another clunker next week he could also throw for 300 yards and 4 TDs. That’s just Andy Dalton and I’m not sure that’ll ever change about him.
22. Robert Griffin III – Washington Redskins (+1)
RG3 definitely has the talent to rocket up this list, but he’s going to have to prove it on the field. Can he stay healthy? Is his team in his corner? Time will tell, but he’s a lot farther down this list than other stand out QBs from his class like Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson.
21. Kyle Orton – Buffalo Bills (+1)
Kyle Orton showed some of his limitations against the Chiefs last weekend. That game was there for the taking and the Bills couldn’t put it away. Orton is still holding strong on the basis of his solid numbers: 65.6%, 277 yards per game, 10 TDs, 3 INTs. Those numbers actually warrant being ranked even higher, but Orton still doesn’t pass the eye test to be ranked much higher.
