Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals

Now we get to some of the top match ups of the week. The first is a contest between two teams that few felt would be at the top of the NFC at this point in the season. If Carson Palmer hadn’t gone down I think I would have felt like Arizona was the clear pick, but now I have some doubts. Still, the Cards have defeated the Lions in consecutive seasons and are very tough at home. I’ve got Drew Stanton doing just enough in this one for Arizona to “eek” out a low scoring win.

Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers

While I think the Detroit/Arizona game looks like a defensive struggle, the Philly versus Green Bay match up looks like a potential shoot out in the making. My brain is SCREAMING at me to pick the best QB in the NFL who is playing at home to win that shoot out, but my “gut” is telling me to go with the Eagles. Philly’s only losses were against physical defenses (49ers and Cardinals) and that’s not the Packers. In fact, Green Bay is suspect against the run. I think LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles could both have good games and the Eagles pass rush will harass Rodgers all day long. I’m going with my gut and taking the Eagles to win on the road.
