Up: Mark Sanchez, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

Obviously one of the names that has to come up on this list of positive trends is Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Mark Sanchez. When Nick Foles went down with injury, the Eagles immediately turned to Sanchez and asked him to step up and make the same type of plays that Foles was making prior to his injuries. Sanchez has done a remarkable job of stepping into the spotlight and playing at an extremely high level.

Through his first two games of the season this year, Sanchez has thrown for 534 yards and four touchdowns, while through just two interceptions. He was blamed in a big way for the lack of success that he had towards the end of his tenure with the New York Jets, but many forgot that he led that same Jets’ squad to two straight AFC championship games.

Philadelphia still looks like a very dangerous offensive unit, and Sanchez looks very comfortable leading the way. He’ll need to continue to prove himself over the course of the rest of the regular season, but he has gotten off to a very good start. Sanchez is looking to revive his career, and the Eagles are giving him a perfect opportunity to do just that.
