NFL Stock Watch: 10 Players Trending Up And Down
By Evan Massey
Up: Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
Perhaps the most obvious player trending upwards after Week 10 action is Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who put up huge numbers in just one half against the Chicago Bears. Rodgers threw for 315 yards and six touchdowns in the first half, and barely played in the second half before Matt Flynn was sent in to finish out the game. The Packers needed a big win coming out of the bye week, and their quarterback made sure that happened.
He has been playing excellent football all season long, but that game summed up the production that he has been putting up. There is no question that he has a legitimate chance to win the MVP award if he keeps up the type of play that he has through the Pacers’ first nine games.
Rodgers showed just how easily he can take games over, and led the Packers with a huge half. There is no telling how big of a stat line that he would have put up if the Packers had allowed him to continue playing through the second half. Either way, he is trending upwards at this point in the year just in time to lead his team in a stretch run.
