NFL Stock Watch: 10 Players Trending Up And Down
By Evan Massey
Down: Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals gave quarterback Andy Dalton a big pay raise this past offseason, and have been very disappointed with the results that they have received so far. He has failed to come up big for them this year in areas where they desperately needed him, and has come through with some of the worst performances of his career. Over the past few weeks, he hasn’t been able to make the plays against opponents to pull out wins.
Dalton has a quarterback rating of just 78.0 through his first nine games this year, and has thrown just eight touchdowns compared to nine interceptions. Those numbers are simply not going to cut it for an NFL quarterback, and the Bengals have been extremely disappointed in him.
There is still time for him to turn things around, but it certainly hasn’t been a good year for Dalton to say the very least. Cincinnati needs to turn things around immediately if they want to make it into the playoffs. Cleveland and Pittsburgh are both playing solid football, and they are on track to knock the Bengals out of contention.
