Down: Jake Locker, QB, Tennessee Titans

One name that has gone mostly forgotten over the last couple weeks has been Tennessee Titans’ quarterback Jake Locker. He was benched in favor of Zach Mettenberger this past week, and that move could very well signify that the Titans are finally moving forward from the injury plagued Locker. Locker has the talent to turn things around if he can stay on the field, but he hasn’t shown that potential when on the field and the injuries have depleted his value quite a bit.

Locker has played in just four games this season, and has thrown for 764 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. Tennessee has given him plenty of chances over the past few seasons, but he simply hasn’t been able to stay healthy long enough to take advantage of them.

There is still a chance that the Titans turn back to him at some point before the season ends, and he will have to play to the best of his ability to come back as the starter next year. More than likely, the Titans will either move on with Mettenberger, or they will sign a free agent or draft a better option this coming offseason. Locker’s stock is definitely down, and he might not be in the Titans’ future plans anymore.
