Tight Ends

Start:  This could finally be the week that Travis Kelce delivers on the potential he’s flashed on and off all through the season.  The Chiefs TE is a great start this week as Kelce should see much more usage with Anthony Fasano sidelined.  He plays a tough secondary from the Seahawks, but Seattle has struggled against opposing TE allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game.  Kelce will be the Chiefs best weapon in what should be a great game featuring a pair of very good teams.  In a matchup getting much less hype, look for Kyle Rudolph to burst back on the scene for Norv Turner’s offense.  The Vikings TE takes on the Bears D which has been getting crushed by opposing TE and is a great play if he’s still available. (last week: Larry Donnell)

Sit: Most of the big names are in great matchups, but Julius Thomas takes on a tough Rams defense that doesn’t allow opposing TE to do much from week-to-week. St. Louis has only allowed one receiving TD to opposing TE since week one, and they’ve held opposing TE under 70 yards in every game this season.Thomas should only be benched if you have another great alternative, but he is in a matchup that merits a bit of concern and lowered expectations from his owners this week. (last week: Zach Ertz)

Flier: Raiders TE Mychal Rivera continues to get plenty of looks from Derek Carr and now has 21 catches, three touchdowns, and 185 yards in Oakland’s last three games.  This week, Rivera and the Raiders take on the Chargers who have been good against opposing TE this season but are injury-depleted on defense and did give up 79 yards and a touchdown to Charles Clay and the Dolphins TE last week. (last week: Mychal Rivera, Richard Rodgers)
