Will the Chicago Bears turn things around?

The Bears are in some serious trouble.

Likely completely out of the playoffs and currently holding down the basement position in the NFC North, the Bears face the Minnesota Vikings, a team which feels it is very much alive in the playoff hunt and one which is incredibly happy to not reside in the NFC North basement.

There are so many facets to the Bears’ ills that it’s impossible to know where to attack first.

Is the sputtering offense the main problem? And in that, are we again talking about Jay Cutler and his attitude, as well as his propensity for turning over the ball? Or is it Brandon Marshall and challenging NFL fans to fights on Twitter (per John Breech of CBS Sports)? Or is it the putrid defense?

It’s really a nasty stew of all three things and more. So is the ultimate issue head coach Marc Trestman?

Last season his offense waxed over a lot of poor defensive play, though that same defensive play is what sank the Bears anyway. This season, the offense is a tire fire and so the defense looks even worse.

Can the Bears turn things around?

It’s not looking good.
