NFL: Jonas Gray, Most Surprising Performances From Week 11
By Evan Massey
1. Jonas Gray, New England Patriots
The most obvious choice for number one on this list was New England Patriots’ rookie running back Jonas Gray, who came through with a monster performance against the Indianapolis Colts. He has shown potential all season long, but came through with the best game of his career in one of the biggest rivalry games in the NFL.
Gray carried the football 38 times for 199 yards and four touchdowns in the game, and led the Patriots offense all game long. He came through with clutch yardage when his team needed him to, and he pounded the ball into the end zone at will. New England wouldn’t have won this football game if it hadn’t been for their rookie back coming through with the game of his life.
New England needed a running back to come through for them this year, and Gray has answered that call. Tom Brady has seen a lot of pressure lifted off of his shoulders due to Gray’s play, and that will continue even more following this performance. Needless to say, Gray was the most surprising player that came through with a big performance in Sunday’s NFL action.
