Gray Laughs All Over the Colts As Pats Prove They Have Running Game

Patriots running back Jonas Gray is no stranger to a stage with bright lights.  His 199 yard performance against the Colts in New England’s 42-20 win on Sunday Night Football is a perfect example as the former practice squad running back/part-time comedian may be the newest weapon for Tom Brady and company.

The 199 yards the Colts defense had the Colts questioning themselves after Sunday night as Indianapolis has not allowed anyone to get even close to 199 yards rushing all season.

The beginning of the season seemed like a joke for the Pats.  New England struggled to beat the Raiders and were blown out by Kansas City, averaged 75.5 rushing yards per game in those games and Brady was knocked around more than Gray’s career.

Gray could be the straw that would stir the Patriots Super Bowl drink, if they can get past Kansas City in January.

But who is Jonas Gray again?  Well, before he hits the stage again, Jonas Gray had a stellar prep career which he took with him to Notre Dame, emulating other Detroit backs like Barry Sanders and Jerome Bettis and became the starting back for the Fighting Irish, leading Notre Dame to a 4-0 record before tearing his ACL.

Funny enough, he signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with Miami, placed on injured reserve there before landing on the Ravens’ practice squad, cut again, then found his way to Foxboro.

Gray wasn’t valued much, by anyone, until Sunday night.

Guess who had the last laugh, then dropped the mic in the end?
