Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

I feel like this is one I’ll be pretending I didn’t write up next week when Kansas City manages to look awful against the Oakland Raiders.

That’s just how this season has felt when it comes to the Chiefs. In fact, it’s been this way for a few years—where we are always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Is it fair, especially after five straight wins? Is it fair considering this team blasted the New England Patriots in Week 4? Is it fair when the team is 7-3?

Probably not.

The problem is, you look at this squad and walk away unimpressed with guys like Alex Smith. You look at it and while you think “they’re finally suing Jamaal Charles right,” you also wonder why in the world they aren’t using tight end Travis Kelce vertically.

You watch this defense and marvel that it managed to hold a win when it still let Russell Wilson throw two touchdowns and Marshawn Lynch to run for 124 yards.

You watch this team and wonder when the wheels are coming off.
