Foot Locker’s latest promotional run, one they’re calling a “Week of Greatness,” is a gem. To understand how brilliant it is, just take a look at this commercial featuring boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao:
Gold. Sheer gold.
For those uninitiated with Foot Locker’s Week of Greatness, it’s actually a two-month stretch in which the athletic apparel company brings out its heaviest artillery when it comes to launching highly sought-after sneakers. This week’s highlights will include the debut on Saturday of Nike’s LeBron 12 “Instinct” high-tops, which come in three styles (Cave Purple, Hyper Crimson and Turquoise).
Saturday also brings Jordan 13 retros for kids, along with Kevin Durant’s seventh shoe, the NSW Lifestyle and Nike’s Air Force One Comfort. Under Armor joins the fray with their Clutchfit Drive, a basketball shoe that comes in Taxi, White and Royal.
Adidas will be featured next week, as Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose and Washington Wizards standout John Wall will have shoes that debut on Monday. Nike goes back to the retro card on Monday, bringing back their Air Zoom Flight ’96 series.
Don’t worry, there will be a reason to hit Foot Locker on Black Friday. That’s when a host of high-end sneakers bust out, including Nike’s Jordan Retro 6, Adidas’ Stan Smith original and former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady’s T-Mac 1.
