NFL QB Power Rankings: Ranking The Starters For Week 12
No. 12-9
12. Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens (+1)
Joe Flacco is lurking around the top ten and is certainly capable of heating up and getting there. The Ravens are right there with the other three teams in the AFC North. Would I be surprised if Flacco lead Baltimore to the playoffs? Not at all. Would I be surprised if Flacco slumped and the Ravens failed to make the playoffs? Not at all. That pretty sums up Flacco at this point in his career.
11. Colin Kaepernick – San Francisco 49ers (+1)
Is Colin Kaepernick setting the NFL on fire this season? No, but neither are any of the other QBs below him. His completion percentage, yards per game, TD to INT ratio, and rushing yards are all solid. He remains one of the league’s most talented QBs, he’s just an inconsistent talented QB.
10. Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks (-1)
Russell Wilson’s spot in the top ten of these power rankings is hanging by a thread and frankly, if it wasn’t for his 571 yards rushing he would have fallen out several weeks ago. Wilson just doesn’t seem as comfortable in the pocket this year. He still has some great throws outside the pocket when plays break down, but his accuracy in the pocket just seems off. His completion percentage is the lowest of anyone in the top ten despite the fact that he is throwing shorter passes than anyone else in the top ten too. If any of the QBs lurking just outside the top ten heat up he’ll find himself on the outside looking in.
9. Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons (+1)
Matt Ryan continues to put up good numbers on a flawed Falcons team. Now, he still has a pair of elite WRs to throw to so don’t feel too sorry for him, but his line/run game/defense still leave something to be desired. The amazing part is that despite the Falcons obvious flaws and 4-6 record they are currently the division leader in the NFC South.
