No. 8-5

8. Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints

If I had told you that Drew Brees would be completing 69.5% of his passes and throwing for 307.1 yards per game at this point of the season you probably would have guessed that New Orleans would be sitting with a good record and Brees would be the same elite QB that he’s been the past few seasons. All I can say is that there is just something missing. Drew Brees doesn’t ever lose two straight games in New Orleans, but that’s the reality at this point.

7. Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers

Philip Rivers stays steady at number seven after an incredibly ugly win against the Raiders last week. His overall body of work this season is still worthy of the top ten, but he has been slumping lately. Rivers and the Chargers go to Baltimore next before a game against the Patriots. If Rivers wants to stay in the top ranks he better produce in one or both of those games.

6. Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo stays put at number six coming off his bye week. Romo is playing some of the best football of his career as he’s completing almost 69% of his passes for about 250 yards/game with 18 TDs and just six INTs. Hopefully the extra week off helps Romo’s back as they prepare for a game against the Giants this week.

5. Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers

Big Ben got a lot of help from Le’Veon Bell and the Steelers running game in their win over the Titans, but there’s no denying how good he’s been this season. He’s completing 68% of his passes for almost 300 yards per game with 24 TDs and 6 INTs. At this point I think Roethlisberger is definitely deserving of a spot in the top five QBs.
