Houston Texans (-1.5) over Cincinnati Bengals

More than half of the action is on the side of Cincinnati… and the line has moved from a “pick” earlier in the week to that of Houston laying 1.5 points. Aside from the painfully obvious notion that there is real money on the side of the Texans, this is a traditional spot where the Bengals are overvalued.

Houston may not be “as good” as Cincinnati on a neutral field, but home-field advantage can be the great equalizer in the NFL, and the Texans are also playing quite well on the heels of a solid win over Cleveland. The Bengals are gaining a lot of traction as being “back” after their somewhat unexpected road win in New Orleans, but taking Andy Dalton on the road is a proposition that is always difficult to endorse, even before getting to the fact that J.J. Watt plays for the opposition.

I’ll take the home team in a virtual coinflip and feel great about it.
