PlayDead was supposedly bringing their platforming puzzle experience to Xbox One gamers this month, and now it looks like a large portion of the population will be getting the game as a gift. For those who were in on the Xbox One action early, a message is being sent saying that a download code will be delivered shortly, allowing the game to be downloaded for free.

Make sure to check your messages on Xbox Live to see if you have a note awaiting you.

At this point, the parameters for “early adopter” aren’t clear, but I did have the code delivered to me on November 23. I purchased the Xbox One on day one, so the timeframe isn’t easy to figure out.

Considering this last weekend, November 22 to be exact, was the one year anniversary of the launch of the Xbox One, this is a nice little gift from Microsoft. Limbo is one of the most well done arcade games I have ever played. The level of difficulty gets increasingly steep, but the puzzle and platforming aspects are flawlessly delivered.

Limbo is a classic game that does more with less as well. Despite the simple color palette, the game is one of the most beautifully created graphical experiences I have played from the Xbox Live arcade.

Make sure to check your inbox and download your free Limbo game.
