Latavius Murray-RB-Oakland Raiders (10.1%)

Murray had a breakout game on Thursday night even though he only had four carries.  He took those four carries for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns including an impressive 90-yard touchdown.  Murray was by far the most explosive option in the Raiders offense this season, but he was forced to leave the game due to a concussion before he could do any more damage.

The concussion muddies the waters a bit, but Murray is still the top pickup based on his huge potential.  The Raiders need any kind of offense they can get, and Murray showed he can provide that in his week 12 performance.  The risk is definitely there if you add Murray since he hasn’t cemented his role as lead back or had more than one big game, but he should still be your top claim given that there are so few top-line running backs available.

He has no history of concussions and has had the extra days to recover since the injury happened Thursday.  He will most likely get through the league’s concussion protocol in time for the Raiders game Sunday in St. Louis.  After the Rams, the Raiders take on the 49ers, Bills, and Broncos to end their season.  Right at the top of their priority list should be seeing what they have in Murray, so hopefully his workload will increase.  Starting him as a RB2 is risky for this week since his workload is still unclear, but owning him is key going into the end of your fantasy season.  He’s a decent flex gamble and has big time upside if he can get past Darren McFadden and own the lion’s share of the Raiders backfield.
