8) NFC South

The NFC South is 6-23 against the rest of the NFL.

That stat tells the overall story of the ineptitude in the division this season, but if that wasn’t enough, the Atlanta Falcons currently lead the group with a 4-7 record. Atlanta has struggled mightily during portions of the season, including two “highlight reel” collapses against Detroit and Cleveland on the back of laughable clock management from head coach Mike Smith, but the Falcons leading the NFC South despite failing to win a single game outside of the division is almost perfect.

New Orleans is probably the best team of the four, but they have now lost back-to-back games on their vaunted home field, and at this point, no one believes in Carolina or Tampa Bay. The Saints have the feel of a team that could reel off four more wins to reach 8-8, but if that doesn’t happen, we could see a 7-9, or even 6-10, division champion. Yikes.
