No. 24-21

24. Brian Hoyer – Cleveland Browns – Power Ranking Score: 201.4 (-6)

Brian Hoyer took a six spot fall in this week’s rankings. That’s in part because of the four interceptions he threw and in part because of the switch over to the Power Ranking score. Hoyer was hurt by his low PFF grade and low accuracy percentage.

23. Drew Stanton – Arizona Cardinals – Power Ranking Score: 204.2 (-2)

Stanton and Hoyer actually scored very similar with one exception, Stanton’s Total QBR was about ten points higher than Hoyer’s. Stanton has done an admirable job filling in for Carson Palmer, but I’m guessing that as teams get more tape on him you could see him start to struggle.

22. Matthew Stafford – Detroit Lions – Power Ranking Score: 204.8 (-7)

The biggest faller from last week with the implementation of the Power Rankings score was Stafford who is down seven spots. Stafford’s numbers were low across the board and he’s a big part of why the Lions are only averaging 17.9 points per game this year.

21. Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – Power Ranking Score: 206.5 (-2)

The Panthers basically tried to put their entire offense squarely on Newton’s shoulders and it proved to be a little too heavy of load for him to carry. It’s hard to evaluate a QB fairly when he has no offensive line, no running game, and one rookie WR. Still, even with those circumstances he outscored Stafford.
