NFL QB Power Rankings: Ranking The Starters For Week 13
No. 4-1
4. Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys – Power Ranking Score: 307.9 (+2)
With all the grief that Tony Romo gets when things go badly for the Cowboys its only fair that he get credit when things are going well. Romo has been very efficient this season and his biggest improvement has been cutting back on the turnovers. How good has he been? His total score is only two points behind Tom Brady.
3. Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Power Ranking Score: 309.9 (-1)
How close are Tom Brady and Petyon Manning in their ratings this season? If you combine just their QB Rating, Total QBR, and PFF Grade Brady has a total of 201.7 and Manning has a total of 201.6. That’s pretty incredible. Manning edges Brady in this week’s rankings mainly because of the eight TD lead he has over him.
2. Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts – Power Ranking Score: 313.6 (+1)
Manning continues to have another great season. While his numbers certainly are piling up it still feels like he may have lost just a little of the magic from last season. He has a tough Sunday night game in Arrowhead against an emotional Chiefs team coming off the news of Eric Berry’s health issues. Don’t be surprised if Brady is back in this spot next week.
1. Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Power Ranking Score: 351.1
Aaron Rodgers continues to be at the top of these rankings and when I added up the Power Rankings scores it wasn’t ever close. The 37.5 point difference between Rodgers and the second ranked QB is greater than the point difference between number two and number eight on the list. Rodgers didn’t have the “lights out” performance some may have predicted against the Vikings last week, but he’s still the unquestioned top QB in the NFL.
On the next page is a chart with all 32 QBs and a breakdown of their score so you can see exactly how your favorite team’s QB stacks up in the different areas. I’d love to hear what you think of this ranking system in the comments below.
