NBA Tank Rankings: Hornets, Pistons Ascending Negative List
By Brad Rowland
Which NBA teams are the best at being the worst?
With Thanksgiving in the rear view mirror, the NBA is beginning to settle in, just as the college basketball season is taking off in its own right. Naturally, there is a marriage between the two entities, but that is never more evident than at the bottom of the league, with the NBA’s worst teams glancing at the top talent in college with envious eyes.
Each week, we will take a glance at which teams are actively “tanking” this season. It should be noted that not every team included on this list entered the season trying to lose games, but in the case of one high-profile entity that happens to rank in the top spot (for the third consecutive week), the overall “plan” for the franchise includes losing as many games as possible during the 2014-2015 campaign.
This year’s college class does not quite possess the same buzz as the 2014 group headlined by Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid, but there are plenty of gems that should be entering the 2015 NBA Draft (headlined by Duke’s Jahlil Okafor), and the prize at the end of the line could potentially be earth-shattering. Let’s take a look at this week’s edition of the Tank Rankings.
