NFL Players Who Will Underperform in Week 13
By Pete Schauer
C.J. Anderson, RB, Denver Broncos
C.J. Anderson is coming off the best performance of his career, carrying the rock 27 times for 167 yards and a touchdown in a 39-36 win against the Miami Dolphins.
Surprisingly enough, Anderson posted those impressive numbers against a staunch Miami defense that ranks 11th against the run.
But it’ll be a different story for the 23-year-old RB against the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense. KC may rank 26th in the league against the rush in terms of opponents’ yards per game (129.4), but that same defense has also only surrendered an NFL-low two rushing scores–both of which just came last week at the hands of the Oakland Raiders.
If there’s anyone who can help to open up the running game it’s Peyton Manning, but I still think Anderson will have his hands full against a tough Chiefs front.
Anderson will have plenty of chances to find room on the ground the rest of the season, but it won’t be on Sunday night against the Chiefs.
Next: Ryan Mathews, RB, San Diego Chargers
