2. He Is Much More Grounded

While the picture above is more of a pun, the fact of the matter is that Johnny Manziel is a much more grounded and mature person than he was when he was originally drafted. He has learned that he cannot be out partying each and every weekend, and his coaching staff and organization are not going to tolerate him showing up late to meetings.

He has been a very grounded person over the past five or six weeks outside of one incident, and hasn’t been mentioned in a negative light outside of his football career. That was the one area that he had to grow in quickly if he wanted to make it in the NFL, and he has realized that and begun shaping up a bit. Being a starting quarterback in the NFL isn’t easy, and it is just as important to lead by example as it is to lead on the field.

All of that being said, he has really taken interest in improving as a football player and getting himself in position to take over as the starting quarterback in Cleveland. He wouldn’t have this chance at all if Pettine wasn’t satisfied with what he was doing off the field. Assuming he an continue improving and staying grounded and mature, Manziel should begin getting more playing time and starting in the very near future.
