Winner: Tre Mason runs amok

The St. Louis Rams obliterated the Oakland Raiders on Sunday 52-0, and one of the reasons was the outstanding day running back Tre Mason had. Mason put together 117 yards on the ground, averaging 8.4 yards per carry while scoring two touchdowns on the ground. He also added three catches for 47 yards and another touchdown.

The Rams have been playing “hot-hand” running back bingo, but Mason might have just won the starting job with this performance. While the rookie has struggled at times, and the opponent wasn’t very good, he looked sharp running the ball and probably would have had a solid day against almost anyone.

Mason will probably get a chance to keep the bulk of the carries against Washington next week, and if he can perform, he will have every chance to carry that forward.
