Dan Herron-RB-Indianapolis Colts (40.9%)

It’s rare that you can find a primary back floating around on the waiver wire at this point in the season, but finding one on a team with a decent offense is virtually unheard of.  However, Dan “Boom” Herron offers exactly that opportunity after stepping up for the injured Ahmad Bradshaw.

Herron had the same number of carries as Trent Richardson on Sunday, but he was by far the more effective back running for 88 yards on eight carries.  Herron did lose a fumble, but Coach Chuck Pagano was extremely complementary and doesn’t look likely to sit Herron due to his fumblitis.  Herron’s upside in carries is limited since Richardson isn’t going anywhere and will keep getting some work, but Herron still has a high ceiling in Andrew Luck’s high-scoring offense.

Herron performed well against the solid Redskins run defense and will now finish the season with the Browns, Texans, Cowboys, and Titans.  The Dallas-Tennessee finishing combo could be extremely valuable to owners with two-week finals, and Herron should definitely be the first RB to go off the wire providing someone already scooped Tre Mason.
