Zach Mettenberger-QB-Tennessee Titans (9.1%)

If you’ve had to cobble together your quarterback play this season and have managed to make it to the playoffs, congratulations! There aren’t a lot of great options on the wire, but the player who I think has the potential to put together some nice weeks for the playoffs is Titans rookie QB Zach Mettenberger.

First off, let’s get the obvious out of the way–Mettenberger didn’t finish Sunday’s game due to a shoulder injury to his non-throwing arm, so all of his upside is contingent on his health.  That being said, Mettenberger has been impressive recently and faces a mouth-watering slate of matchups coming to the finish line.  In his last two games before the injury he suffered Sunday, Mettenberger threw for an average of 299 yards per game while throwing multiple touchdown passes against the Eagles and Steelers.

It looks like Mettenberger will be able to return this week, and Jake Locker did little to inspire any confidence after coming on in relief on Sunday.  If Mettenberger can go, he faces the Giants and the Jets the next two weeks at home in Tennessee before heading to Jacksonville week 16.  All three of those matchups are plus matcups for him, and he should be able to continue his success as he settles in as an NFL QB.
