28. Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers

Perhaps the most obvious and biggest disappointment this season has been San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis. He has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL over the past couple of seasons, but he has come up with a very poor season this year. Davis has caught 23 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns on the season, and hasn’t shown any signs of his former playmaking self.

27. Levine Toilolo, Atlanta Falcons

There is no doubt that the Atlanta Falcons like the upside that Levine Toilolo has, but he has to figure out how to be more consistent. He has caught 23 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, but is still learning the starting tight end role. That being said, his potential is through the roof and the Falcons firmly believe that he will be able to reach his full potential over the next year or two.

26. Lance Kendricks, St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams have bee a bit of a surprise this season despite their record, and have beaten some very talented teams. Lance Kendricks has been a nice target at the tight end positions, and has caught 22 passes for 186 yards and four touchdowns. He has been a great target for both Shaun Hill and Austin Davis in the red zone, and will continue getting chances to make more plays throughout the remainder of the season.

25. Anthony Fasano, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City hasn’t had the most powerful offense this season, but Alex Smith and Anthony Fasano have made some plays. Fasano has caught 23 passes for 223 yards and four touchdowns on the season, and has been a very consistent target for Smith. He’ll continue playing a big role in the offense.
