I’ve been a huge fan of Monta Ellis through his whole career, which says more about me as a person than I’d like it to.

Ellis might have been a ball hog or whatever early in his career, but it’s obvious those days are far behind him. Ellis has bought in to Rick Carlisle’s strategy, and he’s become the Dallas Mavericks most reliable option not named Dirk Nowitzki.

Even when Dirk and the Mavs have struggled this last week, Ellis has been there to bail them out multiple times.

In his last two games all basically within a 24-hour span, Ellis drew a foul on a 3-pointer to force overtime in the game against the Bulls, made the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime to win the Bulls game, and made a game-winning buzzer-beater against the Milwaukee Bucks in the next game.
