NBA Player Power Rankings: Anthony Davis Time!

14. Pau Gasol
20.0 PPG, 11.2 RPG, 2.0 APG, 2.0 BPG, 21.0 PER
Although Pau Gasol got dunked on as hard as he ever has in his career by Cody Zeller on Wednesday night, Gasol is still having a great season for the Bulls.
He’s the ultimate matchup problem for small teams when he’s on the court with Joakim Noah, which makes it nearly impossible to stop the Bulls’ offense. When put in the pick-and-roll with Derrick Rose, Gasol has also been really effective. Rose draws two defenders, which leaves Gasol open for easy jumpers to driving lanes to the rim.
At his age, it’s really great to see Gasol making an impact on the defensive end of the floor as well. Gasol’s always been a decent defender, but the last few seasons, he showed no effort whatsover. Now, Gasol works every play and is even making good rotations in help defense to block shots.
In his last five games, Gasol is also averaging 13.6 rebounds per game. He’s just a monster right now!
I like this version of Gasol, and it might be the difference for the Bulls in winning another NBA title.
