9. Cris Carter, Minnesota Vikings: 96 Points

Carter was one of the most dominant wide receivers of his generation and he should take pride in his No. 9 ranking on this list (although a few current NFL players are swiftly coming for his spot). He is one of the Vikings’ all-time great players and leads the franchise in receiving touchdowns, receiving yards and receptions. Yet he couldn’t quite help lead them to a Super Bowl despite being on some very good teams.

The famous quote by coach by Buddy Ryan about why he cut Carter from Philadelphia was because, “All he does is catch touchdowns.” And that is somewhat true, three times he led the NFL in touchdown receptions and once he led the league in overall receptions. He was named First Team All-Pro twice and was named to the Pro Bowl eight times. Side note, he was actually cut by Ryan because of drugs and alcohol, but that’s not nearly as good of a story. The story of his recovery and ongoing sobriety is though.
