Jonathan Stewart-RB-Carolina Panthers (47.4%)

Stewart is the right back for the Panthers to close the season with as they try to emerge from a sloppy NFC South, but the lurking presence of DeAngelo Williams could limit his touches in the next couple weeks.  Stewart has shown his upside and looked much better than Williams all season, but Stewart will still have to share the workload if Williams can get healthy for next week.

Last week, Stewart was a monster rushing for 155 yards and a touchdown on his 20 carries against the Saints. It was his second strong outing in a row after piling up over 100 total yards (85 rushing, 25 receiving) against the Vikings in week 12. Stewart has dealt with his own health issues this season, but finally may be healthy just at the right time to make him valuable for your fantasy finish.

The next two weeks the Panthers play the Bucs and Browns both at home in Carolina.  Stewart should be a startable option in both those matchups as long as Williams doesn’t take too many of his touches.  At this point, Stewart is the best widely available option from the week 15 waiver wire, so grab him and see how Williams progresses throughout the week. If you can get Dan “Boom” Herron from the Colts (54.2% owned), Herron represents less risk, but Stewart’s upside and availability get him the top spot this week.
