6. Gale Sayers

Gale Sayers only lasted four full seasons in the league but tried to play in seven.

Sayers was one of the quickest, smoothest runners the game had ever seen up until that point and probably since, to be totally honest.

There was just something about the way Sayers glided on the football field that was electric to watch. Obviously, I wasn’t alive then, and likely neither were you, but based on clips, Sayers would be a star in today’s game.

It’s a real shame Sayers only played as long as he did.
