Steve Nash
1996-Present, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Drafted 15th
2x NBA MVP, 8x All-Star, 3x All-NBA First Team, 2x All-NBA Second Team, 5x NBA Assists Leader

Career Statistics: 14.3 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 8.5 APG
Advanced Statistics: Career Win Shares 129.7, Career VORP 31.3, WS/48 .164, TS% 60.5

The tenth spot on this list was the hardest, I weighed up a multitude of player before I plumped for Steve Nash. The best point guard of recent times, Nash joins LeBron James and Tim Duncan as the only multiple NBA MVP winners.

Even if the validity of those MVP wins remains in question, Nash’s ability to make EVERYONE he played with better is not. A phenomenal passer and a dead eye shooter, Nash’s apex was 2006-07; 18.6 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 11.6 APG, FG% 53.2, TS% 65.4. His Career Win Shares rank 33rd all-time.

Nash never played for a title winning team but like all the greats who came close but never reached the top of the mountain that was more about luck than about some fatal flaw. Steve Nash was a great player, ring or no ring, he’s legacy remains.
