Jacksonville Jaguars (Odds for No. 1 Pick: 31.6%)

Strengths: Um, searching…the Jags have underperformed their expected win-loss record based on the Pythagoream win-loss expectancy model. According to that model, they should be 3-11, not 2-12. Little victories, you know?

Aside from that, the Jaguars do have an exciting young core of skill players, including Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson and of course No. 3 overall pick Blake Bortles at quarterback. With time, this group of young players could excel in Jedd Fisch’s offense.

Weaknesses: Actual Offensive Production. Despite the youth movement and insertion of talent into the offense, points have been hard to come by for this young Jaguars offense. Rookie Blake Bortles has struggled since being inserted as the full-time starter in Week 4.

He’s completed only 60 percent of his passes, been intercepted 17 times (while throwing only 10 touchdown passes) and  has been sacked 46 times. In other words, the entire offense is a mess. They can’t block, they can’t catch and they can’t run very well either—they’re averaging just 4.1 yards per attempt.

The defense is just as awful, ranking in the bottom half of the league in just about every important category.

Case For Needing the No. 1 Pick: There probably isn’t a worse team in the NFL today than these Jaguars. That generally means, “Hey we need the No. 1 pick!”
