The Armchair Quarterback’s Guide To The NFL: Week 16
Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals
Ryan Lindley holds the NFL record for most passing attempts without EVER throwing a touchdown. He and the Cardinals offense now have to face a Seattle defense that appears to be back to being the elite unit that carried the Seahawks to the Super Bowl last season. That’s not a favorable match up for Arizona, at all. It would be one thing if the Cardinals had a good running game to control the clock, but they’re currently ranked 28th in rushing. With the division on the line I think the Seahawks come to play and control this game from start to finish.
Seahawks 23
Cardinals 9
Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals
Peyton Manning has slowed down the past few weeks and may not be 100% healthy and while I’m tempted to pick the Bengals here, I just can’t do it. While the Broncos offense gets all the media attention, it’s actually their defense that I’m banking on to pull this game out. The Broncos have the second best run defense in terms of YPC allowed and I think this could end up being more of a ball control game than many people may expect. Andy Dalton and the Bengals don’t have a good track record in prime time games so I’ll go with Peyton and the Broncos on Monday night.
Broncos 26
Bengals 23
So that will do it for this week 16 edition of the Armchair Quarterback’s Guide to the NFL. Are there any games that you see going drastically different than what I’ve predicted? If so, please let me know why in the comments below.
Enjoy the games this week and thanks for reading.
