Rajon Rondo Trade Rumors: 5 Teams Who Could Make A Deal Happen

Why Would They Want Rondo: The Kings are in serious need of a point guard who can lead the team as they are a superstar shy of being contenders in the West. Couple Rondo with Rudy Gay and Demarcus Cousins and all of a sudden the Kings have a surprise Big 3 to throw their hat into the ring with. It doesn’t mean they’re a lock for a title, but it makes them a helluva lot more interesting than they are now.

Can They Afford Him: Sacramento has a lot of interesting depth when it comes to trade bait, as they could package together Nik Stauskas, Reggie Evans and Darren Collison — plus picks — to acquire Rondo in a deal. That’s an attractive offer for the Celtics but it’s hardly a deal that sets them on fire. That being said, it’s one of the better offers they can hope for.

Will They Pull Off A Trade: Of the teams seriously interested in Rondo, the Kings are near the top of theist of teams that can pull it off. This is all assuming that Rondo wants to return next season though, and that’s the hardest sell off all as no one wants to play in Sacramento, it seems, unless they have to.
