NFL Playoffs: Houston Texans Playoff Scenarios
By Josh Hill
The NFL Playoffs are starting to take shape, and the Houston Texans are still in the playoff hunt at this point with the final week of the season looming large.
Houston Texans fans are used to the team winning, but this may be another season that ends without a postseason berth. Last year the Texans were the worst team in the NFL and they failed to live up to expectations again this year. But their season is not over yet though, as the team who had the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft is hoping to make the playoffs on the final day of the regular season.

The win on Sunday afternoon over the Baltimore Ravens kept the Texans alive for one final week, but they need the most help of any AFC team to get into the postseason.
First and foremost, the Texans need to win in Week 17 and beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. That’s a lot easier said than done but it’s needed for any playoff scenario to play out. In addition to needing a win on Sunday, the Texans need losses by the Ravens and Chargers in order to land the No. 6 seed in the postseason.
So, to recap, the Houston Texans will make the AFC Playoffs If:
- Texans win, AND
- Chargers, Ravens both lose
It’s a thin line that the Texans are walking but it’s one that still lead to the playoffs so long as everything goes their way on Sunday.
