What are the top five stories of the NFL‘s Week 16 slate?

NFL Week 16 was so anxious to get going, it got started Saturday night and it didn’t disappoint.

First, Washington dealt a potentially fatal blow to Philadelphia’s playoff hopes with a 27-24 win at home. The Eagles more than likely had to win both of their last two games in order to qualify for a playoff spot, but with NFL.com reporting that the Lions clinched due to the Eagles loss, that’s one less spot to win.

All it will take are wins by Dallas, Green Bay and Seattle and that should put an end to the Eagles.

Then there was the San Diego-San Francisco game. We already knew the Niners were out of the playoffs, but the Chargers still had a faint heartbeat. That pretty much sums up a game which looked like the Chargers were flat-lining, only to come back and force and overtime and a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Can Sunday’s action top all that?

We think so and here are the five story-lines which will put it over the top.
