The San Diego Chargers came from behind to defeat the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night and keep their playoff lives a live. There was a little extracurricular incident that happened during the game that you probably didn’t pick up on.
Apparently 49ers’ offensive tackle Anthony Davis asked Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o about his imaginary girlfriend, and apparently he snapped.
It seems like so long ago that the sports world was rocked by Te’o and the fake girlfriend hoax. So long ago that you might have almost forgot that scandal even happened.
Of course it doesn’t help that Te’o has faded from a national figure to relative obscurity in his NFL career, that departure from the spotlight has helped allow that storyline to fade away.
There was concern when he was entering the league that there would be taunting from his teammates or opponents but we haven’t really heard any stories about it until this one.
Apparently after all this time it is still a sore spot for Te’o.
