NFL Week 16 Winners & Losers: Cowboys, Chargers, Chiefs, Colts and more
By Andrew Garda
Winners: Pittsburgh Steelers
With a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Steelers clinch a playoff spot and can win the division with a victory over Cincinnati next week—assuming the Denver Broncos get the job done Monday night, as expected.
Antonio Brown had a very good game, as did the Steeler defense which notched six sacks against the KC offensive line.
If there is anything concerning about this game, it’s the overall lack of production on the part of the offense. LeVeon Bell struggled to gain much yardage and has gained only 110 yards on 40 carries in the last two weeks. The saving grace is he has been unstoppable in the red zone, with touchdowns in five straight games, two of which featured two touchdowns a game.
Ben Roethlisberger didn’t struggle, but also didn’t exactly torch the defense. He’s been on a tear lately, throwing for over 350 yards in each of the previous three games with five touchdowns over that span.
One of those last games was a 350-yard, three touchdown performance against the Bengals, so he could easily rebound next week.
