1. Can They Stop Elite Running Backs?

Quite frankly, the Broncos were destroyed by Jeremy Hill and that is a concern moving forward. Hill is a rookie running back that put together his second straight big game in a row. The Broncos have been the second best rushing defense, giving up an average of 80.6 yards per game on the ground.

There are plenty of good running backs that the Broncos will have to face on the road to the Super Bowl if they are going to get there. Hill, Le’Veon Bell, and of course the New England Patriots’ multi-back system.

While they are still confident in the rush defense, it is still a concern following the thrashing that Hill gave them. They didn’t seem to have an answer for him when he started making plays, and they never did figure out how to stop him all game. Denver knows that they can’t allow that type of production on the ground, and the coaching staff is going to do a lot of film study to see exactly what happened.

It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see the Broncos get back to being the sturdy defense against the run that they have been for the majority of the season. They need to figure out what the issue was as soon as possible if they want to win a Super Bowl.
