5) NFC East

It was a 3-1 week for the NFC East, but their climb was stagnated by an awful performance from the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly was eliminated prior to Week 16, giving a “reason” for them to pack it in, but losing to the current edition of the Washington Professional Football Team is virtually inexcusable, and the group takes a hit as a result.

On the other end of the spectrum, Dallas is very, very good. The Cowboys destroyed the Colts in Week 16, and with franchise records aplenty in their sights, Jerry Jones indicates that the team will deploy its stars in the final week. That is probably an insane decision, as he is prone to make, but the Cowboys have exceeded any rational expectation this season, and they should be roundly praised.

The bottom is bad, and we all know. Still, both the Giants and Washington managed to secure wins this week, and suddenly, the Odell Beckham-led Giants have won three straight games as they make an assault on a positive point differential for the season. Who knew?
