No. 8-5

8. Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts – Power Ranking Score: 282.1

Andrew Luck is another QB that has drastically cooled off as the season winds down. Over the first six games Luck’s PFF grade was +12.1, but since then it is just +2.6 including three of his final five games grading out with a negative score. Luck may have put up big yards and TD numbers this season, but if his current play doesn’t pick up the Colts will likely find themselves leaving the playoffs early.

7. Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Power Ranking Score: 286.4

If you go to the final page of this post and compare all of Matt Ryan’s numbers to the other six QBs above him the only area he is really lacking in is team wins. Ryan has played about as good as can be expected on a team with a poor defense, poor offensive line, and poor running game. The Falcons need to get their franchise QB some help.

6. Peyton Manning – Denver Broncos- Power Ranking Score: 299.2

The QB that had the best regular season of all time just last year now finds himself outside the top five of these rankings after another disappointing game against the Bengals. As the season has worn down Peyton has looked increasingly old and more importantly, lacking in arm strength. His PFF grade now ranks just 13th in the NFL (directly behind Ryan Fitzpatrick!!!).

5. Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Power Ranking Score: 304.9

Like Matt Ryan, the biggest thing that Drew Brees is lacking this season is wins. Brees has still been incredibly accurate and prolific, he just hasn’t been able to overcome a bad season from many of his teammates. Brees may be getting up there in age, but his game hasn’t shown the physical limitations that Peyton has and if the Saints can shore up their roster they could be poised for a bounce back next season.
