Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers

This is the first of three really interesting games that I want to watch this weekend. Aaron Rodgers is the best QB on the planet and while I know that Detroit has one of the best defenses in the NFL, I think Rodgers will be able to get some points on the board against them. What many are overlooking is the fact that Green Bay has a pretty good defense of their own. While it isn’t as good as Detroit’s, I think it will be good enough to slow down a Lions offense that is averaging 10.3 less points per game than the Packers. Ultimately, I believe that the Lions are too flawed offensively to hang with the Packers at Lambeau Field.

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Here’s the bottom line in this game. The Seattle defense is back to being one of the dominant forces in all of football and I just don’t think a Rams offense that could only score six points at home against Arizona a couple of weeks ago will be able to go into Seattle and outscore the Seahawks. The Rams defense is good enough to keep the game close, but Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson should be more than enough to outscore St. Louis.
