Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

Well, prior to the season many thought New Orleans would be the AFC South champ this season and some thought that Tampa Bay might even make a run and challenge for a playoff spot. So naturally the division’s lone playoff spot is coming down to a game between the 6-8-1 Panthers and 6-9 Falcons. For me this game comes down to Cam Newton vs Matt Ryan and I trust Ryan at home more than I do Newton (still likely recovering from his accident) on the road. I do think this may be the best game of the week with a big time playoff atmosphere.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Sunday night game this week is a good one with the AFC North division going to the winner here. The Steelers pulled away and won earlier this season in Cincinnati and now they just need to do the same thing here to come away as the division champs. Similar to the NFC South championship game I think this one will come down to the wire. While the Bengals have the better defense, I really like the Steelers offense with Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, and now the emerging Martavis Bryant. I think the Steelers just squeak out a close home win and lock up the division.

So there you have it, your Armchair Quarterback picks for week 17. What do you think? Are there games that you see going much differently than I’ve predicted? If so, I’d love to hear how you see things playing out in the comments below.

On a personal note, this is going to be my last Armchair Quarterback column for the foreseeable future. To any of you that have consistently read these posts for the last year and a half I just want to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my ramblings. It’s been very much appreciated.

I hope everyone enjoys the games this week and the upcoming playoffs.

Thanks again for reading.
