2014 NFL Playoffs: Each Teams Key Player
By Evan Massey
Indianapolis Colts, T.Y. Hilton
Two weeks ago, the potent Colts’ passing attack was hampered by an injury to top receiver TY Hilton. Averaging 310 yards per game before their contest with the Cowboys, Andrew Luck and company to score a big goose egg before seldom used backup Matt Hasselbeck tossed a touchdown in the fourth quarter to prevent the shutout.
In the final week against the Titans, the Colts pro bowler showed some rust, and didn’t make a catch. Although the Colts went on to win the game 27-10, against more formidable defenses, Indianapolis will need Hilton’s quickness and big play making ability to go with their short pass attack, in order to keep the secondary honest.
Sporting a rather anemic running attack that ranks near the bottom of the NFL, having a healthy Hilton is crucial if the Colts are to make it out of the first round this time. The passing game is really all that Pep Hamilton has in his arsenal, so he needs all systems go if the Colts plan to make some noise in the post season.
Next: Cincinnati Bengals, Jeremy Hill
