Losers: San Diego Chargers

All they had to do was win.

The San Diego Chargers were facing a replacement quarterback throwing to a group of wide receivers which finished the season with exactly zero touchdowns – and they lost.

So choke isn’t too harsh – in point of fact, it might not be harsh enough.

The offensive line was a disaster, though that isn’t new. This is a team which has been dealing with injury for most of the season. A team whose backfield has had issues at times as well and was missing one of its better wide receivers (Keenan Allen), though even that fellow had struggled.

Perhaps then this isn’t a shock, but most folks assumed that Philip Rivers and the defense would do enough to save the day.

They didn’t and the Chargers missed the playoffs, losing to a team which could have folded but didn’t.
