2014 NFL Playoffs: Ranking The Playoff Field
By Evan Massey
4. Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers came up with a huge win over the Detroit Lions in Week 17 to secure the NFC North title and the second overall seed in the NFL Playoffs. Aaron Rodgers came through with a big game despite being carted off in the first half with a calf injury, and came back to lead his team to victory.
Rodgers’ health is the main concern moving forward, but defeating Detroit gave him two weeks to rest up and get ready for their next game. Eddie Lacy has had yet another great season, and he ran all over Detroit’s number one ranked rush defense. There aren’t many defenses that have the personnel to lock down both Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson either.
What is the bad thing about the Packers? Their defense has been inconsistent this season, as seen at times during the game against the Lions. They allow big plays way too often, and elite quarterbacks can shred them apart.
Mike McCarthy’s Packers have had their struggles on the road, but they are undefeated at home. Defeating Seattle on the road would be very difficult if that scenario does happen, but they have the potential to do it.
Next: 3. Denver Broncos
